Single Iteration Hires Tom Kupiszewski as Engineering Manager

St. Louis December 1, 2003 - Single Iteration recently appointed Tom Kupiszewski as engineering manager of its computational engineering team. Single Iteration is a recently founded division of Watlow that offers advanced engineering services to help clients resolve challenging thermal system problems. Kupiszewski will be responsible for the computational engineering team staff and will lead and guide the development and application of advanced thermal modeling, simulation analysis and engineering design tools for Single Iteration and Watlow customers, both internal and external.

With over 18 years of engineering experience, 11 directly related to the thermal sciences, Kupiszewski comes to Watlow from American Superconductor Corporation, where he advanced the development and commercialization of magnetic energy storage technology requiring thermal management under cryogenic conditions. Prior to American Superconductor, he spent seven years developing new technologies at Westinghouse, including the development of custom heat/fluid flow simulation software used in the Department of Energy fusion energy research program.

"Through his extensive experience managing complex projects and his ability to apply theoretical science to real world design and manufacturing problems, Tom will further the computation engineering team's mission of assuring technical excellence and delivering practical results," said Ray Derler, director of Single Iteration.

Kupiszewski has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and applied science from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He also holds six patents and has authored numerous industry and journal publications.
